The Hound Lab is a collaboration between mother and son, to co-create a boutique range of effective and delicately scented, dog care products from simple, natural ingredients.
Setting out with the intention to find a natural dog wash for our water-loving Labrador and land-loving Mini Bull Dogs, we created a simple natural solution that could be used regularly on their sensitive skin. The wash we developed alleviated problem scratching and itching and the combination of fragrant lavender and chamomile meant that they smelt great too. From this, the Calming Range - Wash and Conditioner 01 was born and The Hound Lab began to take shape.

Crafted with care, we only produce small batch formulations, bottled and packed with love on our farm in the Byron Hinterland. Our range is all natural, vegan friendly and of course cruelty-free. These are dog care products you can feel good about and so can your dog.

Natural grooming for dogs
Common grooming products contain chemicals such as: PEGS, SLS, SLES to name a few. These chemicals are very prevalent in pet care because they're cheap and make the product behave like humans have come to believe a wash product should.
Unfortunately for our dogs these chemicals can strip the natural oils from their sensitive skin leaving their coat dry, itchy and often more damaged than before.
It is our promise that we will never use chemicals such as: PEGS, SLS, SLES, EDTA & many more in our range

What you put on your dogs skin and coat is important, just as humans have sensitive skin so do our dogs. A dogs coat has a naturally occurring balance of oils that regulates the skin/coat, maintaining a healthy balance of this is incredibly important to your dogs overall coat health.

We acknowledge that recycling PET is not a perfect solution, and it does not solve the fact that once plastic is made, it is here to stay for a very long time. Finding a new life for these already-made products, however, is a step in the right direction.
